About Allyson Dansky-Schwartz MSW, LCSW
A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Allyson completed her Masters in Social Work in 1999. As a NJ Licensed Clinical Social Worker, she values a relational approach to therapy. She believes that human beings can only truly thrive in connection with others. Driven by her passion for therapy, Allyson supports her clients to help them create and maintain true intimacy with themselves and in their relationships. She views the development of her relationship with her clients as an important element of the healing process.
With many years of experience helping clients heal, Allyson especially enjoys working with couples in establishing positive healthy relationships. She understands how poor body image and traumatic experiences can deeply affect a couple’s relationship. Allyson also pays close attention to how social and cultural factors impact her clients functioning including sex, gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, religion and age.
Through personal and professional experiences, Allyson has experienced the power of practicing and living a holistic lifestyle. In order to help her clients honor all aspects of their being, she emphasizes the integration of physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness. In addition, Allyson also helps her clients develop a physically healthy lifestyle through exercise and nutrition.
In addition to counseling individuals and couples, Allyson also facilitates workshops on such topics as Healthy Sexuality, Body Love and Awareness, Codependency, and Assertiveness.
